Fully qualified
Firstly, all practitioners are full-time university trained for 5 to 8 years. We’re registered in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, meeting the highest Australian registration standards.
Extensive training in fertility
We’ve gone beyond the basics. Our team has completed comprehensive training in reproductive health, including TCM gynaecology, obstetrics, IVF acupuncture support, and pre/post-natal treatment. We combine Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern medical practices, focusing on women’s health and fertility.
Holistic approach
Working closely with your fertility doctor gives you the best care.
We use tests from both Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine during checkups.
Our treatment includes acupuncture, moxibustion, Chinese herbs, cupping, manual treatment, diet, and support. We also advise on lifestyle changes and supplements.
The key to our approach is combining traditional Chinese wisdom with the latest research trends.
Your IVF support protocol is not generic; it’s tailored based on the freshest research findings.
Our goal is to make your fertility journey as comfortable, encouraging, and reassuring as possible.
Tailored management
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we’re creating a unique plan just for you. We consider your age, history, Western medicine diagnosis, fertility treatment plan, and IVF stage.
As your body is ever-changing, we adapt treatment during each visit. This adaptation considers various aspects, including:
- Phases of your period cycle,
- Associated symptoms, such as pain, emotions, digestion, sleep, energy, and
- Different signs like basal body temperature, pulse, tongue, and all those little details.

Fertility Acupuncture FAQ
Am I too late to start fertility acupuncture, because I have already started my IVF stimulation?
No, it’s never too late to have acupuncture. In fact, you can start supportive treatment at any stage of your fertility IVF treatment. The management program can be tailored to suit different stages, such as conceiving preparation, IVF simulation, egg collection, embryo transfer, early pregnancy, and so on.
It is my first IVF attempt, can I still use acupuncture?
Sure you can.
We can support you through the first IVF stimulation. In some cases a woman only needs one round.
My husband has a low sperm count, we will be using ICSI. Can I use acupuncture to support myself during IVF?
Yes you can. Meanwhile, we recommend seeing both partners for IVF support.
How many treatments will I need?
Let’s create a plan that works for you based on your situation and background.
First, we recommend weekly acupuncture sessions for 3 months before IVF stimulation. We might also suggest some Chinese herbs, supplements, and lifestyle and diet changes.
If you’re already in the IVF process, no worries! Just make a few adjustments: acupuncture twice a week, but skip the herbal part.
On the day of embryo transfer, here’s the plan: acupuncture both before and after – that’s two sessions on the same day.
After the transfer, keep the momentum going with acupuncture twice a week.
If you get a positive pregnancy test, ease into a once-a-week acupuncture routine until you reach the 13th week. After that, we’ll switch to a customised pregnancy care plan.
But remember, everyone’s different. So, chat with our acupuncture experts first. We’ll make a plan that’s all about you and your situation.
Apart from acupuncture are there any other treatments I should consider?
Yes based on individual needs your practitioner may suggest vitamins, Chinese herbs, lifestyle and diet changes.
Is changing my diet important?
Diet changes can be very important. Nutritional deficiencies such as Iron or Vitamin D can affect your results. Your practitioner will take into account your individual needs and tailor some changes for you.
I need to lose a few kilos how will this affect my treatment?
In general, we recommend that a woman lose weight before initiating IVF. We can also provide assistance with weight control and commence the three-month preparation during this period.
What is the age of the oldest woman to conceive?
Despite being over 40, a woman can still achieve natural conception. In fact, many have successfully conceived naturally while preparing for IVF in their 40s. Our experience includes many success stories conceived naturally while preparing for IVF in their 40’s.
Additionally, we have assisted clients of advanced age using donor eggs/embryos.
Anything for high FSH?
A high FSH level indicates that your ovaries are not responding to Follicle Stimulating Hormone. However, for women not in menopause, a combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine may help reduce the FSH level.
Are there any particular supplements that I should take?
As a general rule for women, we may suggest some supplements. Depending on your individual needs, you may require variations. Common variations include:
- Pregnancy multi-vitamins
- Fish oil
- Vitamin E
- Zinc
- Royal Jelly
- Deer velvet
- Vitamin D
- Iron
Should I try Chinese herbal medicine?
Research shows that Chinese herbal medicine might help with ovulation and overall menstrual health. And guess what? It could even double your chances of getting pregnant if you’re struggling with infertility. (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0965229914001915)
Considering these great results, we think it’s worth giving Chinese herbal medicine a try. But remember, it’s totally up to you. You don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to.
One thing to keep in mind is that we usually don’t recommend using herbal medicine during your IVF stimulation cycle.
Do herbs taste bad?
They might not be the most mouthwatering, but with a bit of time, you’ll get used to the taste. Some people even start to enjoy them because they feel the benefits.
We have a variety of herbs:
1. Raw Herbs: These are traditional and a bit bitter, but they’re super strong. They’ve been used in China for centuries, and they might not be tasty, but they’re packed with power.
- Pros: They’re made with a special formula, and they’re more potent.
- Cons: You have to boil them, and the taste can be a bit strong.
2. Granulated Herbs: These are less bitter but less potent.
- Pros: They’re made with a special formula, and you don’t have to boil them.
- Cons: The taste can be a bit challenging, and they’re not as strong as the raw herbs.
3. Patent Herbal Pills: These are convenient and good for people who can’t handle the taste but are less powerful. They’re usually used for less severe or chronic conditions.
- Pros: They’re easy to take, you don’t have to boil them, and they don’t have a bad taste.
- Cons: They’re not as strong as the raw herbs.
Once I am pregnant, should I continue with acupuncture?
Absolutely! Acupuncture is actually really helpful during pregnancy. It can help with morning sickness, and it can also help with other common pregnancy symptoms like aches and pains, sleep problems, and low energy.
As you get closer to the end of your pregnancy, acupuncture can also help prepare your body for labour.
The frequency of treatment depends on what you need. Usually, weekly acupuncture is a good idea. If you want to feel even better, we might also suggest some Chinese herbs.
